Terms of Service

Last updated: [10 February 2026]

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Self Help Supermarket website and any related pages, content, and services (together, the “Site” or “Services”). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

1) Who we are

The Site is operated by Self Help Supermarket (“we”, “us”, “our”).

Legal notices contact: info@selfhelpsupermarket.com

2) Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

3) Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Site. By using the Site, you confirm you meet this requirement.

4) What Self Help Supermarket is (and is not)

The Site provides:

  • a directory of third-party experts/coaches/practitioners and similar service providers (“Experts”);
  • a directory of methods, practices, and approaches;
  • articles and informational content.

Important: Self Help Supermarket is an information and discovery platform. Unless we explicitly say otherwise, we do not provide medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice. Nothing on the Site is a substitute for diagnosis, treatment, therapy, or professional advice tailored to your circumstances.

5) Health, wellbeing, and medical disclaimers

Because the Site may reference wellbeing topics (including therapy-adjacent, nutrition-adjacent, or supplement-adjacent themes), you agree and acknowledge:

  • No diagnosis or treatment: Content and Expert listings are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
  • No emergencies: The Site is not suitable for emergency or crisis situations. If you believe you are at risk of harm to yourself or others, or you may be experiencing a medical emergency, contact emergency services immediately.
  • Consult professionals: Always seek advice from a qualified professional (e.g., GP, clinician, therapist, pharmacist, registered dietitian) before acting on information relating to health, mental health, medication, supplements, or treatment.
  • Results vary: Outcomes from self-help methods, coaching, and wellbeing practices vary significantly and are not guaranteed.

6) Expert listings and third-party services

Experts listed on the Site are third parties. Unless explicitly stated, Experts are not our employees, agents, or representatives.

  • Any engagement between you and an Expert is a matter between you and the Expert.
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, legality, quality, or suitability of any Expert listing, statement, credential, claim, or service.
  • We are not responsible for any act, omission, advice, service delivery, outcome, injury, loss, or dispute arising from your dealings with an Expert.

7) Auto-published content (no pre-moderation)

You understand and accept that Expert listings or other third-party materials may be auto-published and may not be reviewed before appearing on the Site.

We reserve the right (but do not assume an obligation) to remove, edit, restrict, or disable access to content at our discretion, including where we believe it:

  • breaches these Terms,
  • is unlawful or misleading,
  • creates risk to users or the public,
  • infringes third-party rights,
  • or is otherwise harmful to the integrity of the Site.

8) Payments (Stripe)

Where the Site enables payments, payments are processed via Stripe (or Stripe’s integrated services). By making a payment, you agree to comply with Stripe’s terms and policies in addition to these Terms.

We do not store full payment card details. Payment processing is handled by Stripe and its partners.

9) No refunds policy (with required legal exceptions)

All purchases are final and non-refundable, including (where applicable) payments for digital services, featured placements, listings, or any other paid products/services offered through the Site.

However, nothing in this clause limits any rights you may have under applicable consumer laws, including where:

a service has not been provided at all, or

a service is materially misdescribed, or

the law requires a remedy in your specific circumstances.

Where a refund is legally required, we will process it using the original payment method where possible.

10) Intellectual property

All Site content, branding, layout, design, text, graphics, logos, and materials are owned by or licensed to us (excluding third-party marks and third-party content) and protected by intellectual property laws.

You may view and use the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, reproduce, publish, distribute, sell, create derivative works, scrape, or exploit Site content without our prior written consent.

11) Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Site for unlawful purposes;
  • post or transmit misleading, defamatory, obscene, harassing, hateful, or harmful content;
  • impersonate another person or misrepresent affiliation;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, its servers, or systems;
  • introduce malware, bots, or harmful code;
  • scrape, harvest, or systematically extract data without permission.

We may suspend or block access if we believe you have breached these Terms.

12) Third-party links

The Site may contain links to third-party websites, services, or resources. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices. You access third-party services at your own risk.

13) Disclaimers

The Site and Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses, or that content is accurate, complete, or up to date.

14) Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for:

  • indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses;
  • loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill, anticipated savings, or opportunity;
  • any loss arising from reliance on Site content or from interactions with Experts or third parties.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.

15) Indemnity

If you breach these Terms or misuse the Site, you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your conduct, to the extent permitted by law.

16) Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms or if necessary to protect users, comply with law, or safeguard the Site.

17) Privacy

Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy: https://www.selfhelpsupermarket.com/privacy-policy/

18) Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction, except where consumer protection laws require otherwise.
