Joseph Rodrigues is a Canadian entrepreneur and YouTube teacher who shares what he has learned about the mind, manifestation and business. His videos explore Neville Goddard, Reality Transurfing and The Science of Getting Rich, with a recurring message: trust your intuition and live from a sense of already being fulfilled. [1] [2]
Who is Joseph Rodrigues?
Rodrigues tells his story on his website as a journey through 25 years, with a lesson at each turn. It begins in 1997, when as a teenager he discovered the internet and started a small website business, which he later closed. [2]
He says he wasn’t interested in school, and that childhood bullying over not having designer clothes or flashy bikes left him with self-esteem issues he later resolved through the ideas he now teaches. He realised, he writes, that he had allowed himself to identify with thoughts like “I can’t do it” and “I am not good enough”, and that letting go of them helped him trust his intuition. [2]
After a run of warehouse jobs he talked his way into a technical role at the head office of TJX’s Canadian division, Winners Merchants, in 2000, which taught him the power of communication. He spent the next ten years in corporate life, learning IT, finance, client support and office politics, while studying sales, marketing and public speaking on the side. [2]
Two books, The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho and The 4-Hour Workweek by Tim Ferriss, prompted him to leave in 2009, aged 29, and start an IT services business. Earlier, in 2004, he had read Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich and watched The Secret, both of which made a deep impression. [2]
In 2013 he sold his IT clients, reduced his possessions to a backpack and moved to Europe, where he worked in management consulting and started posting videos; his first was about living and working out of a backpack. In 2019 he shifted to teaching, after working with The Abraham Group in Los Angeles for two years. He now runs five training programmes alongside his channel. [2]
His approach in brief
- Notice desire. It points to what you already are.
- Release the conditioning. Let go of old thoughts about who you are.
- Change the inner talk. Your mental conversations shape your life.
- Follow intuition. Let action arise naturally, in flow.

Our take
A calm, reflective guide to Neville Goddard and the inner game of entrepreneurship. Start with his videos on desire and fulfilment, then his talks on mental conversations.
Joseph Rodrigues’s teachings
His talks keep returning to a few core ideas. Tap a card to read more.
Desire points to fulfilment
Rodrigues often opens with a line from Neville Goddard: “What you now desire, you already have and you seek it only because you have already found it. You found it in the form of desire.” He admits it made no sense to him when he first heard it. [3]
Over time, as he puts it, the conditioning in his mind fell away, and he came to experience what he calls “fulfillment for no reason.” Now when a desire arises, he takes it as a sign that he is already fulfilled. [3]
Rather than suppressing desire or trying to get rid of it, he says, see that it points to fulfilment, which is your real nature. [4] It is a gentle reading of Goddard’s law of assumption, and our Neville Goddard profile covers the original teaching.
Mental conversations
Several of his talks explore Neville Goddard’s lecture Mental Diets. He quotes Goddard: to change direction, a person “must put off his former conversation, which is called in the Bible the old man, and be renewed in the spirit of his mind. Speech is the image of mind. Therefore, to change his mind, he must first change his speech.” By speech, Goddard meant the mental conversations we carry on with ourselves. [4]
Rodrigues links this to Romans 12:2, “be transformed by the renewing of your mind”, and Psalm 37:4, “Take delight in the Lord and he will give you your heart’s desires.” [4]
His twist is that ideal inner talk isn’t forced. When you know who you are, what you think and don’t think, the affirmations and denials, arise naturally. You are the awareness witnessing those conversations, he says, and that awareness never changes. [4] Videos such as “Talk to yourself like this for 4 days” return to the theme. [1]
Being, not doing
Viewers often ask him about the difference between being, doing and having. His reply: “What’s the difference?” From a foundation of feeling fulfilled, he says, what you do and don’t do, and what you say and don’t say, happens naturally, effortlessly and spontaneously, in flow. [3]
He gives the example of starting a business. Someone with an idea may list every area to cover, from innovation, sales, marketing and operations to finance and leadership, and wonder how they’ll manage it all. In his experience, people naturally show up to play the roles you don’t want to do, so you can focus on what you love, such as coming up with ideas. [3]
It echoes the absorbed state described in our flow state guide.
Intuition
If his story has one theme, it’s intuition. He says he regrets not trusting it in his late teens, when he closed his first online business and spent years in jobs he didn’t enjoy. [2]
Today he describes following his heart and intuition and finding that everything works out. His stated purpose is to help bring others back into their own intuitive relationship. “You can have what you want, how you want, with joy, bliss, and ease,” he likes to say. [2]
He credits letting go of old thoughts like “I’m not good enough” with learning to listen to himself. [2] Our self-esteem guide explores that kind of inner work.
Three lessons from his story
His bio is built around lessons, set out in bold. [2]
- Lesson 1: stay focused on going deep with what you have right now. He calls it your “acres of diamonds”, found by listening to your intuition.
- Lesson 2: every problem in life can be solved through evolving our communication skills. He learned this landing a head office job without a degree.
- Lesson 3: create your “Now” from the visions of your future. This came from reading The Alchemist.
He also describes a lesson in letting go. When he reached the point where he’d planned to buy a Lamborghini, the desire had gone; he was enjoying life in a different way. Later, living out of a backpack cleared his mind and put his attention on what mattered most. [2]
Wattles, Zeland and others
Neville Goddard is his main reference, but he also draws on other classics. Recent talks include “Act like you are already there” from Wallace D. Wattles’s The Science of Getting Rich, a Reality Transurfing technique from Vadim Zeland, and William Walker Atkinson’s Thought Vibration. [1]
His videos are long, calm talks, often more than 30 minutes, easy to play in the background or on a walk. He describes his channel’s purpose as sharing everything that has been helpful on his journey across finances, business, health, relationships and lifestyle, and notes that it is for information only and not a substitute for mental health advice. What the Research Shows
Joseph Rodrigues teaches from Neville Goddard, scripture and his own experience rather than lab studies. Research on self-talk, imagining your best future and habits touches on some of the same ideas:
- How you talk to yourself. Talking to yourself in the second or third person helped people stay calmer and perform better under stress. [7]
- Visualising your best possible self. Regularly imagining your best possible future self raised positive mood over several weeks. [8]
- Small daily habits. New habits became automatic after an average of 66 days, and missing an occasional day did not derail progress. [9]
