Bootsy Greenwood is the stage name of Owen Hunt, a comedian, coach and Amazon bestselling author from Athens, Georgia, who teaches Vadim Zeland’s Reality Transurfing in plain language for regular people. He calls himself a “blue collar mystic”, and his promise is simple: you’ve read the books, now use the ideas in your actual life. [1] [2]
Who is Bootsy Greenwood?
Owen Hunt grew up in Georgia and is a working comedian who has performed in clubs across the US and produces live comedy in Athens. Online he is known as Bootsy Greenwood. [1]
His teaching began with a book. He wrote a summary and interpretation of Reality Transurfing, Vadim Zeland’s long and famously dense classic on shaping your own reality, and narrated the audiobook himself. It became an Amazon bestseller, and it grew into his full-time work. [1] The print edition was published in January 2024. [3]
Today he teaches through the weekly podcast Transurfing with Bootsy Greenwood, his YouTube channel, a free community on Skool and one-to-one coaching calls, helping people find their true goal and actually live it. [1] [4] His style is practical and funny: “no crystals required”. [1]
The heart of his message is that much of what we chase was installed by someone else, and that the way out is not grinding harder but finding the goal where your heart and mind finally agree, then letting reality do some of the heavy lifting. [5]
His approach in brief
- Find your true goal. Look for the goal your heart and mind both agree on, not the one you were handed.
- Lower importance. The more desperately something matters, the more you push it away.
- Step aside from pendulums. Don’t get pulled into other people’s drama and agendas.
- Act, then allow. Take steps forward, and let the outcome arrive without forcing it.

Finding your true goal
Bootsy’s central teaching is the search for your true goal. Most of us, he says, are chasing goals that were never ours: the career, the plan and the person we were supposed to be, which run our lives like a script we don’t remember writing. [5] The way forward is to find the goal where your heart and mind finally agree. [6]
He also talks about reading the signs life presents and creating a life of joy and purpose without forcing the outcome. [6] His video “Once You Find Your TRUE Goal, You CONTROL Reality” is a good introduction.
Reducing importance
In Transurfing, “importance” is the extra pressure we put on things we desperately want or fear. Zeland argues this creates resistance, and Bootsy explains it in everyday terms: when you stop clutching at an outcome, you can act more freely and things often move more easily. [4]
He has a whole video on the subject, “Once You REDUCE Importance, You CONTROL Reality”. For related ideas see our Sedona Method guide on letting go.
Pendulums and how to step aside
“Pendulums” are Zeland’s word for groups, systems and dramas that feed on our attention and emotion. In one interview Bootsy explains that there are a few ways to deal with one, the simplest being to step aside and let it slip past without reacting. He stresses that this is different from ignoring life or avoiding it. [7]
It is a practical idea for anyone who feels pulled into arguments, news cycles or other people’s agendas.
Timelines and the variant space
Transurfing describes a “space of variants” in which every version of your life already exists. Bootsy puts it this way: the life you end up living is the one you keep tuning into, and most people are tuned in to somebody else’s station. [5]
His video “Shifting Timelines Explained Like You’re 5 Years Old” is a light-hearted take. If you enjoy this idea, Zeland’s later Tufti the Priestess teaching builds on it.
Applying Transurfing starting today
The point, Bootsy says, is to use these ideas in your actual life, not just collect more of them. [2] He offers a free Reality Operating System workshop, a free one-page cheat sheet with every Transurfing term and a short free book, Your True You. [5]
His videos “How To Apply Reality Transurfing (Starting Today)” and “I Answered Every Question About Reality Transurfing” are full of practical tips. Our Reality Transurfing guide sets out the main techniques step by step.

What the Research Shows
Reality Transurfing is a spiritual model, but several of the habits Bootsy teaches line up with well-studied psychology.
- Clear goals. Specific, challenging goals lead to better performance than vague goals. [8]
- Letting go to find answers. Stepping away from a problem for a while helped people solve it. [9]
- Accepting feelings. People who habitually accepted difficult thoughts and feelings, rather than judging them, reported better psychological health. [10]
- Being present. People were happier in the moments when their attention was on what they were doing. [11]
- Small daily habits. New habits became automatic after an average of 66 days, and missing an occasional day did not derail progress. [12]
